About the Owners: Bill and Sam

Bill and Sam Lahey are father and son.  "We are well traveled,
inveterate mountaineers and backpackers, bird and wildlife
enthusiasts and in general environmentalists."

During the 60's while serving in the military in Europe, Bill began an
auto racing career.  Returning to the USA to raise a family and
complete college, Bill began a small business of Volvo's while
continuing racing.

Sam embraced the outdoors early in life and returns to the High Sierra
many times each year.  Following in his father's footsteps, Sam ran
autocrosses with his first Volvo and quickly developed the interest and
high-level skills that have made him a fine mechanic and technician.

After working highschool summers at his father's shop Sam then joined
his dad in 1985 to open Motor-Verkstad.  While father and son
continue to be sustained by family and the outdoors, their life's work
remains the care and service of Volvos
